Councillor Mrs Rebecca Knox

I grew up just below Pilsdon Pen, where my parents still live. After a spell working away, I moved to Beaminster. I was elected to the Town Council in 2007 and the County Council in 2009. I support charities which give to our local community such as Marie Curie, Royal Agricultural Benevolant Institute and community groups including the Beaminster Community Swimming Pool. I am a great believer in local democracy and local decision making, where the solution to a problem is understood and solved quickly. I am married to Henry, who grew up in Halstock. We support country activities, markets, shows such as the Melplash and local dog and horse show events. I am currently working in particular with the Chamber of Trade to support local businesses, the Yarn Barton Learning Centre, and promoting enhancements for the Square to make it even more attractive to residents and visitors.
